Villa di Moriolo

Once a small fortified castle belonging to a small hamlet of a few farmhouses scattered over a Tuscan hilltop, today the Villa of Moriolo is a small working farm with florid vegetation and breathtaking views over the historical town of San Miniato.
Given it's strategic position the castle although small was the object of many battles until it was pratically destroyed in the 1300's and a Villa Farmstead was built in it's place.
As a Villa it then passed from one aristocratic owner to another, its most recent owner being the noble Florentine Pazzi family in the 18thC.
Today the Villa has been lovingly restored by its present owners and now boasts a 100 acre farm most of which is woodland, allowing for beautiful walks, with numerous olive groves, some arable land, orchards and vegetable gardens.
A family run business, the main produce of the farm is in fact olive oil and guests are welcomed at harvest time to assist with reaping the olives and the local production of an excellent Tuscan Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is a delight to enjoy!
Moriolo offers that perfect combination of classical Tuscan tradition and superb Italian culture in the most breathtaking of settings and guests can experience a truly unforgettable stay in an original, historical Tuscan atmosphere.
